Malaysia Islamic financial centre seeks to boost Qatar relations
Gulf Times 12th October 2009
Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) is seeking to strengthen its relations with Qatar to pave way for cross-border collaboration, according to a visiting delegation from Malaysia, whose first Shariah-based commodity trading platform has gone live.
“One of the mandates of the MIFC is to strengthen the international linkage in the global Islamic financial system with the leading financial centres such as Qatar,” an MIFC spokesman said.
To pave the way for cross-border collaboration between MIFC and stakeholders in Qatar, Malaysia’s Crown Prince of Perak Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Shah, in his capacity as the Financial Ambassador of MIFC initiative, is leading a delegation of about 70 members from 45 key organisations to Doha.
In conjunction with the road show and to encourage greater discourse between market players in Qatar and Malaysia, a Malaysia-Qatar Business Forum will be held today.
Malaysia’s fully-electronic platform ‘Bursa Suq Al-Sila’, is an international commodity platform that is able to facilitate commodity-based Islamic financing and investment transactions under Shariah principles of ‘Murabahah’, ‘Tawarruq’ and ‘Musawwamah’. The launch commodity is crude palm oil.

Tapi sayang gak kalau tak pursue on Msian sides walaupun tahu ada high hurdles from locals. Coz Msian companies dah tau banyak 'tricks' kat sini. Based on all those bad experiences mungkin boleh capitalise and improve in the future.
