The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani inaugurating the Sixth Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre yesterday.
DOHA: The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani yesterday opened the 6th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre.
The annual event will last for six days. A million-dollar pair of cufflinks, a $50,000 tie, close to a million dollar watch were just part of the pieces showcased during the exhibit.
Roger Dubuis, the Geneva-based watch maker known for its extravagant design and technical expertise, will unveil today the latest in its line of high-caliber watches – the King Square Haute Joaillerie. The Haute Joaillerie celebrates its uniqueness by using the exclusive Invisible Diamond Setting. All 538 diamonds framing the watch-face are uniform in colour, cut, clarity and carat weight and are set so that no metal part is visible: no prongs, no beads, no channels.
“The KingSquare Haute Joaillerie is the pinnacle of perfection for Roger Dubuis jewellery watches. With its breathtaking perfection and masterful design, Roger Dubuis brings together the best traditions of Swiss watchmaking and injected the brand’s signature touch of flamboyance,” stated Omar Chaoui, Regional Brand Manager, Roger Dubuis.
Chaoui said their brand will showcase designs never shown before in the other parts of the world. Showcasing exclusive and new designs in Qatar was also the target of Stefano Ricci. “We are selling a collection that wasn’t sold in our stores in other parts of the world. All the pieces here are all new. We made these designs just for this exhibition,” said Niccolo Ricci, chief executive officer of Stefano Ricci.
Stefano Ricci presented the line, Men’s Excess, at the exhibit which features some of the most expensive cufflinks ever made: $1 million, $700,000 and $150,000. A presentation of cufflinks, studs, precious buckles and an extraordinary pleated tie with 100 diamonds that cost $50,000 were showcased – “for a man who loves good quality.”
While a number of jewellery and timepiece companies worldwide are trying to batten down the hatches against the flagging economy, customers with recession-proof portfolios were eagerly waiting for this year’s exhibition, which, according to Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (QTEA) chairman, is the “largest jewellery and watches exhibition ever.”

There are many Sultan Bruneis, TS Anandas and TS Roberts already born among Malaysians in Qatar
BTW, visitors yg berumur 16 tahun ke bawah TIDAK dibenarkan masuk. Tak tahulah apa rasionalnya. Ramai yg being denied entry at the entrance gate sebab bawa anak.
