PUTRAJAYA 4 Jun - Harga petrol dinaikkan RM0.78 seliter kepada RM2.70 seliter berkuat kuasa mulai esok.

Ia merupakan kenaikan harga hampir 40 peratus daripada harga RM1.92 seliter sekarang.

Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi mengumumkan pada sidang akhbar di sini hari ini.

Harga diesel turut dinaikkan sebanyak RM1 kepada RM2.58 seliter daripada RM1.58 sekarang.

Bagaimanapun, untuk mengurangkan beban rakyat, Abdullah berkata, kerajaan akan memperkenalkan rebat tunai bahan api dibayar kepada pemilik kenderaan persendirian sebagai satu bentuk subsidi minyak.

Perdana Menteri juga mengumumkan tarif elektrik Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) yang ditentukan secara progresif berdasarkan kegunaan. - Utusan.

He also said that Tenaga Nasional Bhd would be raising electricity rates by 18% for homes and 26% for business users.

The announcements are part of the new fuel subsidy plan.

PUTRAJAYA: Berkuatkuasa tengah malam ini harga petrol dan diesel masing-masing akan meningkat sebanyak 78 sen dan RM1 bagi setiap liter, umum Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi hari ini.

Perdana Menteri berkata berikutan kenaikan itu harga baru petrol dipam adalah RM2.70 seliter manakala diesel RM2.58 seliter.

Bercakap pada sidang akhbar di pejabatnya di sini, Abdullah berkata bagi mengurangkan beban kenaikan petrol dan diesel khususnya kepada golongan yang berpendapatan rendah dan sederhana, Kabinet bersetuju memberi bayaran tunai kepada warga Malaysia yang memiliki kenderaan persendirian termasuk pemilik motosikal .

"Bagi pemilik kenderaan persendirian yang berkapasiti enjin sehingga 2000cc (kuasa kuda) serta trak pikap dan jip berkapasiti enjin sehingga 2500cc, bayaran tunai sebanyak RM625 setahun bagi setiap kenderaan akan diberikan.

"Bagi pemilik motosikal persendirian berkapasiti enjin sehingga 250cc, bayaran tunai sebanyak RM150 setahun bagi setiap motosikal akan diberikan," katanya.

Perdana Menteri berkata, bayaran tunai ini akan diberi apabila pemilik kenderaan dan motosikal membayar atau memperbaharui lesen kenderaan bermotor iaitu cukai jalan.

Katanya, bayaran ini meliputi kenderaan dengan cukai jalan yang berkuatkuasa mulai 1 April 2008 hingga 31 Mac 2009.

Perdana Menteri juga berkata bayaran tunai ini akan diberikan secara kiriman wang di pejabat pos di seluruh negara mulai 1 Julai 2008.

Kenaikan terakhir kerajaan ialah pada 28 Feb 2006 melibatkan kenaikan 30 sen bagi seliter petrol kepada RM1.92 seliter. - Bernama

Lepas nih semua barang akan naik harga

MAMPUIHHHHH........lama lagi la nampaknyer kawan duk sini

kebanyakan kereta di Malaysia mempunyai tangki minyak sebesar 90L.

Assuming kita mengisi tangki minyak sebanyak 90%, bersamaan almost 80L.

So, kos untuk 80L petrol = 80 x 2.70 = RM216.

kos di atas adalah untuk sekali isi minyak.

kos aku isi minyak kat Qatar ni tak sampai RM250/sebulan.

subsidi sebanyak RM625 setahun???

kesian kat orang2 kampung...

Kebanyakan kereta saloon <1800cc tangki=50 litre

RM 2.70/ liter harga petrol tu utk bulan ni aje, bulan depan mungkin naik lagi. Bulan August nanti, bila Kerajaan remove subsidy 100 %, harga petrol akan naik ke RM 4.00 seliter.

PUTRAJAYA: The Government announced yesterday an increase in petrol and diesel prices, stating that it can no longer continue to subsidise fuel.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the new prices were still at a 30-sen per litre discount from market prices.

In other words, if the market price is RM3 per litre, Malaysians will be charged RM2.70 at the pump. He said the price would be adjusted monthly based on the global oil price.

What Malaysian media fails to highlight is how much huge extra income PETRONAS will make from the high oil price.

And what Malaysian government fails to announce is how this huge budget surplus from the oil sales is going to be spent.

...government spending via revenue from oil sales + savings from not having to pay petrol subsidies should be made public.

I still don't understand why Malaysia never follow Qatar's policy with regards to petrol pricing...
