RM10mil to solve Labuan’s squatter woes

LABUAN: A total of RM10mil has been allocated to resolve the squatter problem in Labuan, Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Raja Datuk Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said Friday.

He said the allocation was to build low-cost apartments in four phases in Kg Sg Bangat.

"We still have squatters in Labuan and efforts are in the pipeline to resolve the problem," he said after launching the government quarters and extension of the National Land Code to FT Labuan in Kg Bukit Kuda, here.

Areas with squatters include Kg Rancha-Rancha, Kg Sg Bangat, Kg Muslim and Kg Kiansam. - Bernama

Agreed.. but it'd be smarter to look at the root cause of why the squatter colonies became an issue in the first place.

Bina banyak PPRT housings. Last year 20,000 homes had been built throughout the nation.

Even though they know, I guess our government is trying to ensure that there is no further excuse that can be put forward by these squatters once there are sufficient houses built. Subsequently, they can take severe action against the squatters.

Actually, penguatkuasaan kat Msia ni agak lembut kan ? Kalau kat sebelah sini, sure tak begi muka nye.

Itu la sebabnya..kerajaan selalu bertolak ansur dengan rakyat..kalau nak roboh setinggan, sampai 1-2 tahun tangguh...kalau kat sini, sekejap jer rumah kena "sealed".
