Please be advised that all Airports in GCC is having a new rule regarding arriving and departing Overseas workers carrying electronic devices. This has not been published to the public, but affecting all workers who are travelling thru GCC airports.

All Electronic devices will be submitted for scanning before arriving at immigration section.

Devices includes Cellular phones with camera and memory card, flash disks, external hard drive, Laptop / notebook / pc, ipod, itouch, mp3 players with memory cards.

A special USB device will be inserted to the electronic devices that you are carrying. This special device can scan all videos and pictures, jpg, bmp, avi, etc, contents of your laptop / cellphone, and will be recorded to their main computer.

All devices with nude pictures will be confiscated immediately. There will be no fines imposed, but refusal to comply will subject to imprisonment and deportation.

Laptops with pirated software’s will also be confiscated.

This rule has been applied already and is being practice in Saudi, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah Airports, excluding Bahrain Airport.

Besides the 100ml limitations on liquids that can be carried onboard, I think this scanning scanning things is not gazetted on any other airports around the globe.

I will take all my electronic devices, except laptops, on my luggage. Carry On luggage I cuma isi passport jer.

I hopes this is only a rumor...

Ni macam khabar angin aje. The link you bagi sama info except it mentions kat Saudi Arabia sahaja & Saudi airports. No mention of GCC or Qatar macam above posting by minah kampung. Rasa-rasanya macam ada orang saja-saja tukar posting tu.

Anyway in the future better check dengan airport authorities bcoz tak dengar matter ni gazette kat Qatar so far..

Maaf sekiranya memberi maklumat yang salah tetapi pembuka kata saya adalah "Sesuatu yang tak pasti benar atau tidak". Sekiranya procedure ini telah dilakukan di KSP Airports, kemungkinan juga akan dilakukan di Qatar atau mana-mana GCC Airports kerana Pak Arab ini selalu suka meniru satu sama yang lain.

Aku ada 2 kali kuar ke Doha semasa stopover Doha... tahun ni je dah sekali tak de pun scanning. Ada juga stopover Abu Dhabi... tak de pun... aku kuar masuk Kuwait tak de pun scanning.... hari tu pi Oman pun sama je tak de pun scanning... rasa rasa tak de la geng geng kastam sama imigration tu kalau orang ramai sangat pun dia malas nak check mende mende remeh temeh tu... airport saudi tak tau la

Kalau satu hari ada 100 flights (arrive and depart)..passenger ada beribu-ribu orang...mesti makan masa nyer...nak scan, nak check in, immigration, itu-ini..sure miss flight punya....
