Moving to Qatar-QP

Hi guys,

I'm moving to QP soon - Dukhan.


Anyone in the same batch and so on?

Kindly PM me for HP no. so that I can enough preparation and such.

better if u put more info on the "same batch" and so on...
there's almost a few thousand positions in QP and 12k of staff...

I'm referring to position as expat senior position (IT)

It would be good if anyone here are on their way to QP to provide their HP information (PM) so that we can share/plan our needs before reaching there.

Welcome to QP & Qatar.

There are around 200 Malaysians in Dukhan (parents & children). They are all willing to assist you once you are there.

That's great as this is my 1st time leaving my family far away.

1 quick question - At the moment, I'm going along (single) but I've plan marriage end of year. How can I go about all these hassle?

I don't see such question arises @ this forum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there have not been any IT people based in Dukhan...
What I mean is, they will all be based in Doha.

a guy SINGLE.

I'll be based at Dukhan most of the time but I'll travel around but they do compensate on the expenses incurred.

u just inform QP (HR) u're getting married.
at the moment, ur in Single Bachelor status...
once u get the marriage registration card, send a copy to HR people... they will update ur status to Married.
r u planning to bring wife to Qatar? if yes then HR will update ur status to Married with Family (entitlement is family), if not, then ur status is Grass Widower. entitlement manitain at bachelor status.

I would also advice, u open a thread in Qatarliving.com...
if u google qatar, it will pop up at top ten website...
so chances to connect with the same batch searching for info about Qatar, is much higher...
that is how i meet my batch as well...
don't get me wrong, it's not that i'm promoting qatarliving....

Malaysian living in Qatar forum is still new, so not many people will be able to find it yet...
unless they search for specific keywords, only then they find this forum.

Msian-Qatar forumner is helpful in giving advices to newcomers, but u should search first the old threads as most of the question have been answered...
but still, if u ask... we won't mind answering.

OK. Thanks for hinting. I've actually posted/replied to one of the forummer asking for the same question (Where he actually posted all the benefits that's same as mine). Thou' he didn't reply my post.

He seem to be coming in crowds (1 wife and 3 kids). That look a lot better as they have families around. Hope he's here to answer my call.

Anyway, just to post chronology of event of applying the job

2009
End of Nov - Saw the ads of QP recruiting through local newspaper. Apply through APRecruitment

Dec - Received call from AP and was told selected for phone interview

End of Dec - Went through conf. call phone interview (~Approx. 5 interviewers and the interview session connected to my HP while they had it on LAN line; painful process as my ear felt the hotness). Was told I will receive call following week if I'm shortlisted

2010
2nd week of January - Receive call from AP that I'm shortlisted again and the Head of I.T. will be at KL for f2f interview

13th Feb - f2f interview
14th Feb - Receive offer letter


Thing need to be done -

1) Medical Examination
2) Certificate endorsement by Qatar embassy
3) To submit form to Wisma Putra for some sijil kelakuan baik?

Please correct me if I missed any steps.

1) telephony choice and rate (to call back hometown)
2) rental rate @ dukhan (after I ended my probation)

that's what i can think of for now. to add on later.
