Re: Introduce yourself here..
Living cost bergantung kepada citarasa masing2. In general, income less than QR40+ with family is considered comfortable. Entry VISA is arranged by employer upon which working VISA is to be arranged (also by employer) at later stage.rosara wrote:salam to all, saya newbie di sini, mencari-cari info mengenai living costs dan juga visa info utk ke Qatar.

Re: Introduce yourself here..
Hi saya baru sampai sini lebih kurang 2 minggu lepas dan sekarang tinggal di area al-sadd. I am a teacher at the Gulf English School, secondary section.
Been in international school circuit for a while now. Let me know if any one with secondary school children would like to know about international school curriculum ( both British and American).

Re: Introduce yourself here..
Zi,
My friend's wife went to see Sheikh Abdullah on last Thursday and was told to go through a driving test instead. Apparently, there's a new internal procedure, introduced since last week that all Msian/Indon ladies (May be not for Managers/Engineers) need to go through a driving test.
The wife was suggested to go through the test at Doha Driving School in Khartiyat. Perhaps with the signature from Sheikh Abdullah (obtained during the above-mentioned session), she went through the test with ease and passed.
Likewise, an Indonesian lady who (holding a US driving licence since 15 years ago) that appeared before Sheikh Abdullah on the same day was also refused direct conversion. She also went through the same process and finally managed to get her Qatar driving licence.
Hopefully, this info is useful for you as so far, only Sheikh Abdullah (besides the Director himself) are known to have the power to authorise direct conversion.
Salam.

Re: Introduce yourself here..
Bro ir-king,
I saw one of your postings. My understanding is that your current basic salary is higher than what is offered by QP. Frankly, on financial aspect alone and If I were you, I would not accept. I imagine the tax free income in Doha would be offsetted by higher cost of living while the allowances are just sufficient to enable you to rent a good house and buy a FWD.

Re: Introduce yourself here..
Pal,
MABROUK & welcome aboard.
It depends. In my case it took the company 1 week to revert with approved VISA. However, on average, I imagine it would take 2 weeks.
